We have created this guide to help make the installation process as easy as possible for you. We have tried to explain everything in detail so that even if you are not a professional, you can still achieve great results. Let’s get started.
Tools & Equipment Required for Installing Inground Trampoline?
The first thing you need to do is to gather all the supplies required for the installation. Knowing what you need in advance will save you time and hassle.
List of Tools:
- Tape measure: This is probably the most important tool you will need. A tape measure will help you to get the dimensions right, and it will also help you to calculate the amount of material that you will need.
- Shovel: You will need a shovel to dig the hole for the trampoline. Depending on the trampoline size, you might need a larger or smaller shovel.
- Level: It will ensure that the trampoline is level when installed.
- Tin snips: You will need tin snips to cut the fabric.
- Excavator: If you plan to install a large trampoline, you might need an excavator to dig a hole instead of a shovel.
Supplies Required:
- Roofing screws: These will be used to secure the trampoline’s frame to the ground.
- Trampoline pad: It will protect you from getting hurt while jumping on the trampoline.
- Brick or cinder blocks: This is to secure the trampoline.
- Trampoline spring: It will provide the bounce for the trampoline.

Instructions for Installing Inground Trampoline
Now that you know what supplies are needed, it’s time to start the installation process. Here are detailed instructions that you need to follow:
Step 1: Set up the frame and mark the dig area
Start by putting together the frame. You don’t have to put it together completely; all you need to do is get it to the point where you can indicate the dig area. Then, begin setting up where you intend to dig the hole. When doing this, ensure the spring holes are pointing upwards. One person can do this; however, two people will make it go faster.
Find a technique to indicate the area where you want to start digging after you’ve set up the frame (you can use spray paint). You might wish to add 2-5 inches to the frame’s shape to make it simpler to fit it into the hole. Remember that you can fill in the blanks later. After you’ve created your frame and designated it as an area, you can start removing some of the turfs to use as backfill later. You only need to save enough turf to cover your tracks, not all of it.
Step 2: Digging a hole for trampoline
The next step is to start digging the hole for a trampoline. The hole should be 3-4 feet wider than the frame on all sides and at least as deep. Once you’ve reached the proper depth, start leveling off the bottom of the hole. This will ensure that your trampoline is stable and level when you put it in.
Step 3: Place the Frame in the Hole
Now it’s time to put the frame into the hole. Again, this can be done by two people, but if you have help, it will be easier. Once the frame is in the hole, start adding the roofing screws to secure it. You will need to put at least four screws in, but more is better.
Step 4: Attach the Springs
You can start attaching the mat with the springs once the frame is in the hole. If you’re putting up a rectangle trampoline, start with the four corners and the middle of the sides, and work your way out from there. It will be easier to work with someone opposite you because the strain will be equal.
You’ll note that the frame has moved quite a bit once the springs are installed. So it would help if you now jumped up and down on the mat with your trampoline to ensure everything is secure.
Step-5: Pads
The final part of the installation is to add the pads. These will go over the springs and help keep you safe while jumping on the trampoline.
Final Thoughts
The process of inground trampoline installation is now complete. All you need to do is add the safety netting and fill in the hole with the turf you removed earlier. Once you’ve done that, you’re ready to start jumping! ENJOY!
